Morogoro, 12 December 2025 — The 44th Graduation Ceremony of Ardhi Institute Morogoro (ARIMO), held today, concluded with a high level of success, showcasing a renewed pace of institutional growth, improved academic quality, and a firm commitment to continuing the production of competent and ethical professionals for the development of the Nation.
Hundreds of parents, relatives, government leaders, land-sector stakeholders, and members of the public attended this important event held on the Institute's grounds. The ceremony was filled with celebrations, joy, hopeful faces, and a sense of accomplishment for the graduates who completed their academic journey.
Guest of Honour Applauds ARIMO’s Leadership and Development Progress
In his speech, Hon. Dr. Leonard G. Akwilapo, Minister for Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development, who served as the Guest of Honour, congratulated ARIMO for its significant contribution in producing professionals who directly support the land, housing, and urban development sectors in the country.
Dr. Akwilapo emphasized the importance of the young graduates in ensuring that Tanzania acquires experts capable of managing proper land use, planning cities competently, applying modern technologies in surveying, and supporting development that meets the needs of the 21st century.
He also condemned improper land use and urged graduates to uphold their professions with integrity, innovation, accountability, and patriotism.
The Guest of Honour further endorsed the institution’s efforts in implementing the Master Plan for Ardhi Institute Morogoro (2023–2043), which aims to improve infrastructure, increase student enrollment, and expand teaching that integrates modern technology.
He pledged continued collaboration with ARIMO to ensure the availability of modern surveying equipment to enable students to acquire high-quality practical training that meets labour market requirements.

In his remarks, the Chairperson of the Advisory Board, Professor Ernest Kihanga, congratulated the Institute Management, lecturers, and staff for their tremendous work in improving curricula, strengthening infrastructure, and increasing teaching resources. He emphasized that ARIMO continues to grow and position itself as a key institution producing experts who contribute significantly to national development.
The Principal of the Institute, Mr. Charles Saguda, outlined the academic direction for the year 2025, highlighting increased enrollment, high pass rates, the use of ICT in teaching, and new collaborations between the Institute and other academic institutions. He added that 2025 has been a year of positive transformation, especially in the areas of innovation, academic advancement, and student services.
The Students’ Union message delivered through ARISO, and presented by the ARISO President, highlighted achievements in improving the learning environment and efforts to address student service challenges. The message also indicated how student participation in academic and social activities has significantly strengthened.
From the government side, greetings from the Morogoro Region, presented by the District Commissioner of Morogoro, Mr. M. Kilakala, commended ARIMO for its role as an important partner in advancing land development, housing, and urban planning agendas in the region and the nation at large. He emphasized that strong cooperation between ARIMO and local governments continues to generate positive outcomes for communities.
